Raising Hope Walkathon
Please come out and support your community while enjoying a fun and productive walk (or run) and help low-income individuals in the Silver Spring/Takoma Park area. The Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington (ACSGW) is organizing a walkathon through Sligo Creek Park on October 12th: , MD.  ACSGW will collect $10 per participant for the 5K and $15 per participant for the 10K, which will go towards funding ACSGW programs that help the disadvantaged in the community.  Volunteers will be on hand passing out water bottles and helping with street crossings. The Silver Spring Historical Society and Montgomery Preservation Inc. sponsor this monthly free public open house at the historic Silver Spring B&O Railroad Station.  Limited free parking is available in front of the station with ample street parking and a parking garage available nearby. The railroad station is also an easy four-block walk from the Silver Spring Metro station.

(Re)Acts is a community-minded event used to delve deeper into and diversify the perspectives on topics that are important to Forum and related to our current work. Forum invites local artists from multiple disciplines to create artistic responses to a specific prompt, topic, or theme. The outcome is a one-night performance of all of their 10 minute reaction pieces that is casual, experimental, engaging, and electric. More HERE.
