JOIN COUNCILMEMBER VALERIE ERVIN FOR SCREENING AND PANEL DISCUSSION OF "AMERICA WINTER"
Save The Date: Wednesday, May 29, 2013 - AFI THEATRE
From Councilmember Ervin: "Please save the date for a free screening of a powerful documentary film that follows the struggles of four average American families during the winter of 2012.  ... It is a story about overcoming obstacles that millions of families face every day in our nation and our community. ... The event will feature a panel of special guests who will share personal stories and the latest strategies being utilized by individuals, non-profits, businesses, and governments to make gains in the fight against poverty. ... We hope that it will move you to participate at the local level to create new policies that will provide jobs that pay a living wage, encourage you to give to local non-profit organizations that provide food, clothing, and housing, and to take action to end hunger and poverty.  ... While the event is free, an RSVP will be required. (See postcard HERE.)"
